Did you know?
Often the first notice consumers get that someone has fraudulently assumed their identity is either a call from a collection agency demanding payment on an overdue credit account they never opened or when their own monthly billing statements do not arrive in the mail and they find out the address on their account has been changed. Most victims never learn how the identity thieves accessed their personal identifying information, which is so readily available from a variety of sources.

Margaret B asked:

I opted for a free trial from “Identity Truth” a identity theft protection company (I got the info from a trusted site.) The only thing I can find about them now from search engines is their advertisement, not even from any of the computer magazines that ususally review computer related matter. Anyone know of this company or had experience?

Dok asked:

There’s a commercial I’ve heard on the radio a few times for identity theft protection where the guy gives his real SS#. Does anybody know what I’m talking about?
